No advice from me on the baby acne...I have no experience with it.

Hi y'all ! Sheena and Greg you 2 were already a cute couple but now look at what a beautiful family the 3 of you make ! :)
Glad to 'hear' you two have been getting some sleep and some rest and it's nice to see you made it out into the fresh air.
That darling Jayden is growing and changing so wonderfully, just lovely. And I see he's doing what he's supposed to; waking you up when you least expect it and then switch it up on you. Good work Jayden. Lol. :)

I don't get to pop in as much but I am always thinking of you all.
I told you 2 before, it's like I know you. :)
Anyway, yeah, I thought you 2 were already engaged and I never noticed or thought about Sheena not wearing a ring (mine turned into a pinky ring when I was preg ) but I get what you mean about it being "official" with the ring and being beyond bf/gf. I hope I get and invite to the wedding if you 2 decide to to go that route. I will certainly show up, I'm only about 8 hours away. Shameless for asking aren't I ? :D
Well, that's enough of the letter writing.

I'd be doing the same thing as you...sleeping! My mom is coming this weekend and is staying for more than a week, I fully intend on using this to my advantage and taking some naps. My nearly 10 month old still doesn't sleep through the night and my 3 year old gets up way too early.

Anyway...the acne will probably go away on it's own in the next few weeks or months. Baby acne is pretty common and not indicative of what their future skin will be like.

Now...go get some sleep! ;)

The acne could just be baby acne .. as another commentor mentioned, it could just be mama's hormones leaving Jaydens' little system. It will clear up on its own (both my boys had it).

And I am all for the co-sleeping.. and sleeping in general. :)

the baby acne could be eczema. if anyone in the family has a history of asthma, eczema or psoriasis. i would talk to your doctor. my son use to break out like a fresh strawberry, turned out he has eczema. good thing is that if that is what it is, you're already doing good using aveeno since that what they will recommend. that and keeping him moisturized.

I have just recently begun reading your blogs. I started about 2-3 weeks before Jayden came. This is my first post.
Congratulations on the baby and engagement! How exciting for both.
Just wanted to add that I have a 3 year old son and we have been co-sleeping since the begining - well he was first in a co-sleeper then we moved him into the big bed. I think co-sleeping is the greatest thing we can do as families and I wish more families did it! We love it!

As for the baby acne...I always used Clinque's lotion for my kids. You know that one in the square bottle? It worked like a charm! Hope that helps!!

Congrats on the official "fiancee" title!
Both my boys had baby acne. We switched to a nontoxic, environmentally safe laundry detergent long ago and that helped with everyone in the fam as well as the baby acne. (allergies included). If you have a local whole food store you can check out the brands they have or perhaps try www.charliesoap.com. Some parents switch to Dreft laundry soap. You can get it at just about any store (ie Walmart, Kmart, Tarjay).

For washing the baby try hypoallergenic, scent free baby washes and shampoos. I heard that apricot oil can help. I've never tried it so I can vouch for it. HTH

BTW-My bro and his wife are in chicago. Live off Michigan Ave. I used to live in Schaumberg in the 90's.

Good for you two enjoying your visit with family and catching up on some sleep. Your picture looks adorable. Jayden just gets cuter by the day. All my kids had baby acne and a lot of thngs were the cause of it. The main causes were the kisses, everyone was kissing his fat little cheeks constantly. His skin was just too sensitive , especially to the different things people have on their lip (gloss, lipstick, or chapstick). One of the big things was people touching his face a lot. It was really hard to get people to not do that because when you are holding a baby in your arms and you are looking at him you feel like you just have to rub their cute little face! Also when other people were holding him I had them hold him in one of his blankets because I wasn't sure if he was allergic to what they washed their clothes in. Hope I wasn't rambling too much. Btw, I co-slept with all my kids and they are just fine.

oh yeah and both girls got baby acne - and we just kept their skin clean and moisturized - and stuck with the dreft for the first six months and washing our clothes in grown up free type detergents like the tyde free - it went away quickly

Funny thing - Jerry and I got formally engaged when cam was about six months old and married when Cam was a year - literally the week after her first birthday, and we co slept with both girls until they were about eight or nine months - they both kick like the dickens and Bri made the switch to her bed rather is making hte switch to her bed now.

Its not going as well as I would have liked.

Anyway, everything I've heard about baby acne (after both of my kids having it) just says that lots of babies get it and it's usually not caused by anything, just a stage of infancy. So maybe you don't have to blame your mother for it :-) Good luck, it's fun reading about your journes here!

Hey, take advantage of friends and family who are willing to 'babysit' for you. REST REST REST!! Hope you guys have fun today, hopefully its not to cool or windy. We just got back from Chicago we have family there as well (my inlaws) so we're there quite often.

Lyric had some baby acne, not to bad but she did have it when she was a newborn, wash with no soap that's what we found worked, just a washcloth and some warm water.

I read that it could just be the extra hormones he has from mommy that are leaving his system, or it could be something he came in contact with. I used a dryer sheet once with my daughter and haven't since. They made her break out when she was a few months old, and I haven't tried them since (sometimes they irritate me, too).
