Mommy Daddy Blog: Never Lose A Password Due To Mommy Brain Again!

  • Tina Silva · 1 year ago
That sounds all great and dandy, but what happens if you lose that organizer? Then some stranger has complete access to every account you had recorded. :-/

Tina, feel free to share your ideas for storing passwords.
  • 1stopmom · 1 year ago
OMG, I would benefit so much from this organizer. We have at computers and tons of passwords. At least 10 years of passwords!! There are my passwords, my hubby's, and the kids. It is so hard for me to keep track of. And of course being "mommy" I need to keep up with everyone's passwords. It is just not for sites I visit for fun but passwords for our bills since 99.9% of them are paid online. It is a great idea to have all the passwords in one centralized location.

I'd love to win this! We have tons of passwords between the two of us and they keep growing every day with the million social networking sites that keep popping up on a daily basis! It's hard to keep up! This would definitely help. And yes, of course, it'd have to be locked up in your home office or safe if you have one.

    :crossing my fingers: ;)

Have so many passwords that this will make things a breeze - won't forget one again!
  • Keisha · 1 year ago
That book looks cool can we win it ?
Our accounts & passwords are written in an old raggedy, unattractive journal with pages falling out :)
But I do use various codes to keep our info safe:
This is one Example: #1234567 Atty. = Me=My evil cat

That means the account number for AT&T my login name BigKeisha9 and the password is 1muhammed1.

The code might look crazy but I want it to. My hope is that if a stranger came across the info (in my new sophisticated IPO that I won from the Mommy Daddy Blog ) they wouldn't be able to figure it out.

P.S. I tried to teach my husband but he just wasn't interested ; I told him he's going to up a creek without a paddle if I die. But maybe he'd be inspired by a spiffy new Internet Password Organizer with 122 reinforced tabbed pages. Just a thought. :)
  • Gina · 1 year ago
What a great idea and a nice cause for some proceeds to go to.

The organizer would benefit us so much, between me and Rodney and Lyric now going on the internet, we have so many passwords its hard to remember what is what and what websites actually have us signed up at with passwords.

The worst was when Rodney's laptop got stolen, he had a lot of our 'major' passwords saved on that computer and we had to run around remember where and what passswords were for which websites and how many websites we were signed up at etc etc, something like this would have saved us a lot of worry and time because we could have just gone thru the list to change the passwords as needed.

This is a great idea. Our passwords (or some of mine at least) are scribbled in an old notebook, but there are many that aren't in there, or I forget to organize and write down. I would love a special place where the whole family could keep this stuff organized!

Greetings! I have the very problem you just discussed. Trying to keep my internet passwords, user name, etc. can drive me crazy if I let it!!!!! I jot them in different notepads, on a sticky note and then can't find them when I can't enter a site. Please enter me in your delightful drawing. I appreciate it. Thanks,Cindi

Knowing me, I'd probably leave the book at Starbucks or something. I have a pretty good system that works for me. I have 3 passwords. Level 1 is a password I use for low security stuff (social networks, etc.), level 2 is a password I use if there's ever a chance of me sharing it (like a job-related login). Level 3 is a high security password that I use for accounts that are money related. With this method, I know there are only 3 possible passwords I could ever have.

  • Shannon · 1 year ago
I do alot of internet shopping and bill paying online and have many different accounts for "mommy" sites and this would be great for me cause sometimes I forget which pw I used.
    Thanks
  • Dianna K. Ball · 1 year ago
I hate to admit this (but I bet I'm not the only one)...most of my passwords are exactly the same. From online banking to apartmenttherapy.com - some variation, but basically the same. This book would help b/c I could change some without forgetting them!
  • Shane · 1 year ago
For years I"ve used index cards and a file box. I list the website name at the top of the card and the sign in name and password below. I then file them alphabetically by website name. It's a little archaic, but it works. This hand dandy book would actually bring me into this century for storing my vital web info. Count me in. Thanks!

Our current system works well- we have a file on our computer where we save them- the file itsself is password protected. BUT, something like this would be good to have a hard copy of and keep in a safe.
  • Leslie · 1 year ago
This would benefit us so much. Both my fiance and I use the internet to do everything from checking email to banking and paying bills.

I can never remember what he has made the passwords for things, and vice versa.

I need one and so does my mom, I have so many passwords and thing to remember, and mom just forgets.
  • JenniferB · 1 year ago
I have serious Mommy brain all of the time, and I'm not even pregnant anymore! I work part-time while the kids are in school, and then rush around home on the farm with my DH trying to keep things organized, and woops! happens all too often. I need this organizer, and would really enjoy being able to keep life a little more "together".
P.S. I just found your blog today and I think y'all are doing a great job here!
  • jenni · 1 year ago
Sound like a great idea. DH is always forgetting which password is which!
  • thecoolmom · 1 year ago
A few months ago my computer had to be repaired and I was on my dh's computer. Guess what? I couldn't get into half the places I normally go because I couldn't remember the passwords and they were all on my computer. Boy could I use this book. I shudder to think what would have happened if the computer had died altogether. Yikes!
  • Ginny · 1 year ago
I am terrible with passwords so this would help out so much! I've been wanting one for so long. I have tried organizing passwords in a notebook but it gets so messy. Another reason I want is in case my husband ever needs to get into anything like banks, paypal, ebay, etc I would feel more secure knowing my family could get into my accounts if something ever happened.

I've reached the point at age 45 where I can't possibly remember all my passwords, so I end up having them scribbled on bits of paper everywhere. It would, honestly, help my marriage to have a neat organized book of passwords. My husband often asks what a password is, and then I have to track it down...not fun.

  • Katy · 1 year ago
I would LOVE this! I would benefit from it because it would keep me soo much more organized...of course, a PLUS..but also because then I am more apt to use different passwords for different places and not similar ones...which prevents people from getting into my accounts.

Well, right now we don't exactly have the most secure method of keeping track of passwords. They are all either very similar, or written onto a piece of paper. It would be nice to have them all organized. Right now, when my computer crashes and forgets who I am, it drives me crazy trying 12 different combinations of things until I find the one that works, and sometimes I just need to waste time resetting my password because I can't remember it at all.

Boy, could I use this! I've got years of passwords rattling around in my head (parenting sites, bill payment sites, you name it), and now that I've just gotten married, I'll need to remember hubby's passwords, too. My son is five, very computer literate, and will no doubt be reaching the age soon where he'll have a squillion passwords to keep up with (and will expect that mama knows them when he forgets! LOL). I hate the sites that won't let you pick your own generic easy to use password. I use the same password for everything unless it's something like the bank or email, then I use a stronger random password that I've memorized. I hate when I register for a site and use my generic password like, for example, "hippo" and it says "too short" so I make it "hippo55" then another site tells me "hippo55" is too short so I have to make it "hippo555" but it doesn't like 3 5s so I have to do "hippo567." Then some sites make you do a capital letter as well. So I have "Hippo567." So when I visit the site again I'm sitting there typing in 10 different hippo passwords all ticked off wondering why I didn't write it down! Gosh could I use this!
